About Me

My name is Hue, and I’ve been working in the fashion industry for over 15 years. Sewing has been part of my life from a very young age, and it continues to be one of my greatest passions today.

After graduating with a Diploma in Fashion Design, I worked for a local designer as a sample machinist. During that time, I gained valuable experience in garment construction and developed a deep appreciation for the techniques that go into creating beautifully made clothing. Learning the importance of precision, fit, and high-quality finishing has shaped the way I approach sewing and garment making.

I also spent several years working in clothing alterations, which gave me extensive knowledge of how garments are constructed and the many ways they can be altered, repaired, and improved. This experience taught me how to problem-solve creatively and adapt designs to suit different body shapes and needs.

I also ran my own dressmaking studio where I designed and created beautiful custom garments. I worked closely with clients to make bridal gowns, mother-of-the-bride and groom outfits, formal dresses, and unique custom pieces for special occasions. During this time, I also collaborated with emerging designers, assisting them with pattern development and creating samples for their collections.

Alongside my industry experience, I have completed my Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, which qualifies me to teach. I truly enjoy sharing my knowledge and helping others build confidence in their sewing skills.

Sewing is one of my greatest loves and I would love to pass on my knowledge because I believe it’s a skill that empowers creativity, sustainability, and self-expression. Whether you are a complete beginner or looking to refine your techniques, I look forward to sharing my skills, experience, and passion for sewing with you.

These are small, numbered classes, so I can give more time and attention to each student. You’re welcome to bring your own sewing machine or use the machines available in the studio. The classes are designed to be fun and relaxed, creating a comfortable environment while you build your skills.
